You're Not Overreacting -You're Remembering

There are moments when your reaction feels...

bigger than the situation in front of you.

You tell yourself, “Why am I responding like this?"

You try to calm it down.

Push it away. Make it make sense.

But what if you’re not overreacting?

What if… you’re remembering?

Not always in words. Not always in clear thoughts.

But in your body. In your emotions.

In the way something feels familiar.

Sometimes what rises up in you isn’t just about now.

It’s connected to what you’ve carried. And this is important.

Experiences that shaped you. Moments that hurt you.

Situations where you didn’t feel seen, safe, or supported.

And your system learned something from those moments.

So now, when something even slightly similar shows up…your response isn’t random—It’s protective. This is where awareness matters.

Not to judge yourself.

Not to label yourself as “too much” or “too sensitive."

But to begin to understand yourself with honesty and compassion.

Because when you slow down and gently ask:

“What does this remind me of?”

“Where have I felt this before?"

You begin to move from confusion… to clarity. And clarity creates space.

Space to respond differently.

Space to invite God into what you’ve been carrying.

Space to begin healing—not just managing.

Psalm 139 reminds us that God already sees and knows it all.

“Search me, God, and know my heart…”

This isn’t about exposing you. It’s about meeting you.

You don’t have to rush past what you feel. You don’t have to fix it immediately.

You can start with awareness. And from there…one faithful step forward.

As a Christian Life Coach I would love to help you in this journey
